Please rise for the National Anthem -

July 4th - 2008

Each 4th of July we get together and Grandpa and Grandma's for our annual 4th of July Celebration. We do a little barbecue, play a little cards, maybe some outdoor games like horshoes or badminton, bochi ball. And cap the night off with a little fireworks. A couple clips will show you Courtney playing the national anthem by sparkler light, and one of our many firework displays...

Art Sale?

Recently the kids had an art sale, as you may note, people came by in droves! We had grandma and grandpa and the Lewis family looking and buying from these famous artists!

Trombone Mania

Alan has been consistently practicing his trombone-- which, of course, means that all the kids are now wildly interested in everything trombone. They hover around Alan when he practices, bring out their instrument collection to play along, march, dance, and beg for a turn to play. It's pretty funny. Seth has been practicing his favorite instrumental tune "Mary had a little lamb" he has learned how to play it on the piano, the kazoo, the recorder and now... the valve trombone. See if you can pick out the tune...

Happy Mothers Day to my beautiful Sea Princess!!

I love you a bushel and a peck!

2 Sunflowers and a Llama?

On our Leavenworth trip we found a petting zoo, some beautiful wild flowers, and some nutty kids who had a lot of fun!

Raquetball anyone?

On our recent Leavenworth trip, our hotel had all kinds of nook's and crannie's, we found a raquetball court at our "Inn". So, trying to be more like Grandma Johannesen, we practiced up our skills!

Our German Ancestry....

This last week we had a fun trip to Leavenworth where we were able to have lots of fun. Red cabbage, sauerkraut, and sausages! Button box and accordion music! And men playing long, strange, horns! Of course the only thing really needed to make it a great trip appears to be a swimming pool -

Afternoon fun...

While Karen was sleeping, the four of us traveled to Sister Betty's home to see her harps. She is so kind to allow 3 young children in her home to pluck her harp's and play on her piano. After the visit we decided to travel over to the tulip fields while traffic was at a slow...
