The old traditions side by side with the new traditions of a fast paced modern world was mesmerizing. We watched the "bread man" hand make flat bread over a hot oven in the middle of a summer day, went to the fabric store and off to the tailor where we ordered up custom-made clothes and traveled into Dubai-- a most modern and fascinating city.

More UAE
The old traditions side by side with the new traditions of a fast paced modern world was mesmerizing. UAE

Alan and I traveled from Paris to Abu Dhabi and Dubai-- Brad and Terri Cook were our amazing hosts through our exploration of this amazing part of the world. We were transported and fascinated by our experience.
Terri took us on a sunrise trip to visit the camel tracks. It was unlike anything we had seen...ever! Alan became "one" with the camels and was right in the middle of it all!
Paris

Alan and I went to Paris on our way to Abu Dhabi, the trip was terrific from beginning to end! Within the first hour, we were sitting on the plane, holding hands, headphones on, watching two different movies-- 6 hours of free movies-- you know life is too busy when sitting still watching movies is the perfect day:)
We spent 3 days in Paris and did a lot of sight seeing, going for runs, buying strawberries at the market... We stayed in a great little boutique hotel and basked in the beauty and history of that gerat city!

Crazy Fish Story!

Seth is obsessed with fishing right now-- sadly, his dad is gone and, even though I did take him down to the river to fish a few times, apparently, there's more to this whole deal than having a fishing pole. Suffice it to say that "casting" is actually harder than it looks!!
So grandpa was kind enough to take Seth-- Grandpa got Seth's line in and went to bait his own hook-- just as soon as Seth's line hit the water, Seth started yelling "I caught a fish"! Grandpa assured Seth that it was just the weight hitting the water, Seth insisted that he caught a fish...and started reeling it in-- yep, a four lb salmon on the end of that hook--

Jordan and Parker
Jordan and Parker are great little friends. They can play for hours together and rarely have a fight (Parker basically has learned to smooth Jordan's ruffled feathers-- he doesn't have to give in to her always, he just has learned how to deal with her...I am signing myself up for Parker's next class on dealing with Jordan:)
They decided to paint yesterday and "needed" to use acrylic for their project, so, we got out the paper and protected everything...beautiful art was the result!
