Jordan turned 7

Jordan had a birthday
(yes, it was almost 2 weeks ago...speed it not my forte' when it comes to getting a birthday party in place...).  After asking relentlessly consistently for three weeks,  Jordan decided that the party needed to be THIS Saturday.  I didn't have a really good reason why I couldn't get it together -- so, I quickly pulled together a plan.

There were 7 girls.  We did a garden theme.   They painted flower pots, painted "designer socks", made a necklace, and played "guess what fruit/vegetable is on your back" not sure if that is the actual name, certainly someone has come up with a better name than that...but, that's the name I give it....  We had lunch and the girls decorated their own cupcakes-- lots of frosting, lots of sprinkles!

Instead of presents, we asked for donations for the foodbank.  Jordan and I dropped off the donations after the party.

We sure miss this man!!

Kailey and her dad floating down a river in Paris.  Oh how we miss Alan!!

Sometimes I just have to laugh

It's always hard to go to sleep in a small hotel room.  So, the Brock children decided that if they had a warm cloth on over their eyes, they would certainly be able to get to sleep... nutty ...

Berries

I just never get tired of berries.  I went to a luncheon the other day and decided to bring these beauties with me!  YUM

Ebelskiv New fun gadget

Gail gave me this great little pan for Christmas.  The Ebelskiv (I hope that's not a swear word in German or anything...how embarrassing would that be?), you basically put any batter you have into it and it cooks it up into these cute little balls.  We have tried banana bread batter, pancake batter with jam inside, pancake batter with apple bits and rolled in cinnamon and sugar (pictured), pancake batter with chocolate chips etc etc etc.  It's quite fun to play with this little tool.

house keys

I am not kidding, these were my house keys for the house that we had in England.  Don't you just LOVE it!?

Quick trip to Paradise

Jordan and I took a quick (38 hours) trip to Utah to take care of some house business in the beginning of January.  While we were in "Zion" we spent a little time in "Paradise"!!  There is a reason they call this place Paradise.  The pictures speak for themselves.  We got there Thursday afternoon in time for dinner and left Friday afternoon at 3 and still managed to eat two meals there!!!

These little mini's WERE as good as they looked!!!!
Jordan lost a tooth before we left, and found that a hole in the mouth is a perfect place for a straw:)

Jordan LOVES to be at Holly and Steve's house.  Loves the dog, loves the doll house, loves just spending time there basking in Holly's gentle attention!! Thanks Holly
We took United.   No direct flights for us!!!   It took 6 hours each way to get there.  Utah via SF, CA on the way there and Denver on the way back.  Not exactly "as the eagle flies", but, what do you do with a free flight??

Crazy Snow Days

We got SNOW last week.  We only had one day of school the whole week.  We got a few inches on Tuesday and then Wednesday night, we got about 12 inches in the space of an hour or so.  I measured the snow accumulation in our front  yard and it was 19 inches.  What a shock to this little rain valley!!  The whole valley shuts down when there's snow.  No church, no school, lots of stores remain closed-- when it got a bit cleared out, we went out to find donuts.  The donut shop was closed...what?  Crazy snow days!!

My birthday weekend

One of the great treats for my birthday weekend was having a collection of my sisters around!!  Lori flew up from Las Vegas to help me celebrate and add fun to the weekend (THANK YOU LORI).  Heather gave me a new haircut (and if it turned out like that every day, that would be terrific, I guess I need her to come to my house every morning).  Mom hosted a yummy birthday luncheon.  It was a fun weekend with shopping, chatting, eating, playing, and just enjoying being around each other.  Thanks ladies!

Jordan and Dr. Suess

Not only do Jordan and Dr. Suess share a great love for rhyming, but, they also share the same birthday!  So, Miss Jordan dressed as thing 2, Kailey dressed as thing 1 and Seth decided that the book character of choice for the Dr. Suess dress like a book character day at school today was none other than President Lincoln.

It was a fun day.  We started out by feeding thing 1 and thing 2 a little green eggs and ham for breakfast!  The day can only continue to improve when you start out by trying new things:)
