More Halloween pictures

Just a few more fun pictures from Halloween-- we went over to the church and participated in a costume contest and other fun events--

The Builders

Alan is building a shed-- Any time Alan goes out to work on it, Seth is right behind him with his "gear" on. Seth keeps his nails in his apron and has his own hammer, screw driver, measuring tape and pencil (which he usually tries to balance behind his ear). Seth spends more time asking questions than actually working on it--he fancies himself a builder but he displays more of the investigative reporter qualities... (what are you doing that for Dad? Why are you doing that now Dad? What will you do next Dad? What part should I work on now Dad? What day will we be done with our shed Dad? etc etc etc-- too cute!

OOO---OOOO Halloween At LAST!

We had a fabulous Halloween Night! Complete with Trunk or Treat at the church followed by some neighborhood trick or treating and then stops at the kid's teacher's houses. Our "witches" were cackling and our "SWAT" team was brave! Other than Seth and Jordan running in front of a car...(that's not really the kind of scare we were going for!!) it was a perfect night:)

Short Hair!

So, here's Jordan's new hair cut...why so short you ask??

Clue: She's three...

Still stumped? Read previous post!

The adventures of Jordan Brock

So, I was the P.I.C. (parent in charge) Saturday afternoon when Jordan came walking casually out of the bathroom with a pair of scissors. She was walking away from me, but, I could tell she had probably cut her hair-- it didn't look like any harm had been done from the back, then I asked her to bring me the scissors-- it was when she turned around that I noticed the degree of damage she had done to her once adorable haircut. Luckily, Aunt Heather was at the salon still and we just got our shoes on and went down to see what she could do to repair the situation... thank goodness for Aunt Heather!! Jordan's response to the whole scenario..."It doesn't matter mom... I LIKE IT..." that's my girl!

Sister Weekend

I snuck in last minute on a weekend in Atlanta with 5 of my sisters and had an exceptional time! I came back SLEEP DEPRIVED-- but having eaten sufficient chocolate that our 5 mile walk/run each day may not have cancelled out the damage (though I did have diet coke, so maybe that takes evens it all out). When we walked into the pedicure salon unannounced to find 6 empty chairs and no other customers, we knew that the vacation gods were smiling on us (not to mention the DEALS that we all found at the outlet mall etc) it was a great weekend!

Thanks Cheryl and Allison for being fantasitic hostesses and drivers!!

Seth-- The Pirate

Seth is very into pirates these days-- which is particularly funny for a kid that is scared of his own shadow (e.g. when we went to Disneyland, we rode on Pirate of the Carribean, Alan and Seth got done with their ride just in time to get on and ride again with us -- Seth grabbed onto a pole and begged us not to make him ride it again... some pirate:) Grandma Brock got him a pirate costume for his birthday-- he was thrilled when his friend had a pirate party the next week so he could dress up in his "garb"

a new bunkbed!

Seth got a new bunkbed. He was bugging Alan to get it set up ...NOW.... When Alan said "Ok, Seth, let's do it NOW" Seth ran into his room and got on his "building clothes" (safety goggles, apron and hard hat!)

Kailey's 6th Birthday

Kailey is really into princesses right now and loves anything in the realm of imagination. She loves playing with Barbies, princesses, Polly Pockets etc. She has a very vivid imagination. She told me today that she is able to imagine things and see them almost like they are real even when she's awake. We had a fun birthday party. We decorated our royal goblets; traveled to Storyland for Princess in the Pea and then laid on mattresses to see if we were real princesses (real princesses got to select a ring from the royal collection of jewels); decorated our crowns in preparation for the Cinderella story back in Storyland followed by the "tape the crown on the princess game" and then came back to the table and decorated little

princess cakes and opened presents. Kailey was thrilled with the party (as was the "queen mother"). The pictures don't really show you the 10yds of toole that adorned our house-- for $5 it's a great way to transform an ordinatry house into a realm fit for royalty)

Lego Land

We also went to Lego Land-- which is great for kids under 8. It was a welcomed break from the crowds and fast pace of Disneyland. The kids enjoyed the rides, were thrilled by the minature cities built out of legos and had fun just building things out of legos. We just took a few pictures there. I loved the ones of Jordan on Alan's shoulders, because, frankly, that's how she spent a good portion of the trip. As far as Jordan was concerned, Daddy has shoulders just so that she has somewhere to sit!

Disneyland Brock Style

We went to Disneyland on our trip, well, actually, we went to Fantasy Land--we ventured out a few times from Fantasy Land, but, the kids couldn't get enough of Dumbo, It's a Small World, Tea Cups, Catipalliars, Peter Pan and the likes. Seth and Alan spent some time in Tune Town while I spent a significant amount of time in the Storyland with the Princesses. It was a great trip.

San Diego Beach

We had a great "California Adventure" last week. We spent an evening on the beach and the kids had a lot of fun.
